Design System
I recently went through the process of migrating the DaySpring Design System from Adobe Xd to Figma. I took this opportunity to expand and refine the DaySpring Design System. The original design system created back in 2021 did not include color, button interactions, or an expanded ui component library with interaction states. Migrating the design system to Figma gave me the chance to capture not only an expanded library but the strategy behind the system. The DaySpring Design System houses living documentation on interface elements, design patterns, and visual standards. This documentation is intended to help manage digital design and development at scale.
Replatform – 2021
This was one of the first larger projects I was heavily involved in from scope all the way through post-launch cleanup/QA. I ran card sorting activities and compiled the data to inform the information architecture and category taxonomy. I was responsible for designing the content landing page and listing page template for our Ecards, Checkout, Microtransactions, Search Results and more. Additionally, I supported the ux lead in design exploration by providing wireframes for site Header & Footer, PLP, PDP, and Digital Resources.
Web Enhancements
My team and I are regularly combing through dayspring.com identifying pain points, capturing issues, presenting design solutions to problems or new features and design exploration. We care deeply about all levels of detail; from pixel placement to broader user flow optimization. Some of my enhancement work can be seen below. A few of these consist of introducing a digital wallets feature, being an advocate for the user in a weekly web improvements meeting, adding a feature to review greeting card personalization before finalizing orders and reimagining the account dashboard for our users.
Landing Pages
Landing pages are a key component to the DaySpring business. They serve many different purposes; from marketing new products to promoting our brand through content strategy and even supporting new business initiatives. Below are just a few captures from landing page projects I have worked on.
Standardizing the workflow for landing pages from design through development was one of my focus areas in 2022. Working with stakeholders and developers, I designed landing page templates and a component library to serve as a starting point and framework from which the majority of landing page requests adhere to. Most landing page requirements are similar; there are however exceptions where business/tech requirements fall outside of the normal landing page scope. In these instances, further requirement gathering and design exploration is needed to fulfill project expectations.
Teams Power App
DaySpring HR department reached out to me with some structural and content changes to an internal Microsoft Teams Power App called "Way To GO!". This power app is used internally for DaySpring employees to send recognition to other employees based on common criteria and expectations/reasons. This project was a great opportunity to elevate an internal product that positively impacts my coworkers' lives.
After a few rounds of HR and DaySpring leadership review of wireframes, final experience and ui updates were approved. I then translated the final prototype from Xd into the Power Apps developer tool. Once Staging was updated, development pushed it to Production.
